"I am not one who was born in the custody of wisdom. I am one who is fond of olden times and intense in quest of the sacred knowing of the ancients." Gustave Courbet

First.

The Detroit Red Wings fell into the same old pattern as usual on the road Tuesday.

They disappeared after grabbing an early lead in the first period, lost the specialty teams battle early, lost most of the face-offs. Then they showed how good they can be, how they can control the puck, and thanks to Jiri Hudler's slick work with the puck were able to leave with a 3-2 victory after a shoot-out. Hudler was the only player of six to score.

The victory put the Wings in first place in the Central Division with 61 points, one more than Chicago and St. Louis.
